The State of Maine requires that dogs be licensed in the town of residence of the owner. Each dog six months of age or older must be licensed.
Dog licenses are processed from October 15th - January 31st. Licenses expire on December 31st of each year. Late fees are imposed after January 31st.
To obtain a dog license in person, please visit the City Clerk's office during regular business hours (Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM). Dog license purchasing is also available online for your convenience:
