Councilor David Nealley
David was born in Bangor in 1961 and graduated from Bangor High School and then the University of Southern Maine, where he secured a Bachelors of Science degree in Business Administration. His parents are Lois who still resides in Bangor and the late Councilor William "Bill" Nealley.
David spent eight years in the financial services industry as an investment advisor and another eight years as the General Manger of Snow & Nealley Company, a manufacturer of axes and garden tools. In this position he received a U.S. Chamber of Commerce Blue Chip Award for his turn-around of a business. Later, he worked on a successful referendum initiative for Bangor Historic Track resulting in one of the largest economic developments in Bangor, Hollywood Casino. Due to his varied work experience, David has traveled extensively.
Nealley currently is the publisher of MAINE SENIORS Magazine: For the Prime of your Life.
David is a past member of the YMCA Foundation and The Mainely Music Chorus. This is his fourth term on the Bangor City Council. In his first term from 2001-2004, he served on the Finance, Business & Economic Development, Transportation and Infrastructure, and Regional Asset Committees. In David’s second term he served on the Finance and Business & Economic Development Committees, and the Bangor Target Area Corporation.
In his third term, Councilor Nealley served on the Finance, Business & Economic Development, and Airport Committees.
Currently, David is the Chair of the Business and Economic Development Committee, and he serves on both the Finance and Airport committees.
