Public Safety Dispatcher
The City of Bangor is seeking qualified applicants for the position of full-time Public Safety Dispatcher. This position requires working in a fast paced telecommunication center answering business and emergency calls and dispatching appropriate police, fire or other emergency response personnel. The applicant will participate in an oral interview, must be in good health, pass a background check and polygraph examination and participate in an interview with the Chief of Police. The successful applicant will become familiar with computer-based dispatching systems. Training will be provided to the successful candidate to become certified. The position involves shift work with some required overtime. This is an opportunity for a self-motivated and dedicated individual to join a professional communication staff in a modern dispatching environment. Pay range is $17.29-$20.82 per hour and includes a complete comprehensive benefits package.
