Councilor Josh Plourde
Joshua Plourde was born in Bangor and grew up in Enfield, Maine.
He graduated from Mattanawcook Academy in Lincoln, Maine. After graduating with
a Bachelors Degree in Earth and Climate Sciences from the University of Maine,
Josh accepted a position with the University of Maine's Advanced Structures and
Composites Center, working in offshore wind.
Josh lives on French
An active supporter of
the arts, Josh served as a member of the City of Bangor's Commission for Cultural
Development 2012-2013, and as interim director of the Downtown Bangor Arts
Collaborative in 2009.
conservationist, Josh frequents the Bangor City Forest and Bangor Land Trust
Preserves. His hobbies include entertaining friends and family, gourmet
cooking, rock hunting, and camping. Josh is a subscriber of Nautil.us, an
online essay-based science and society publication, and Gastronomica, an
academic journal for food science and culture.
Councilor Plourde serves on the Government Operations, Business & Economic Development and Infrastructure Committees and the Commission for Cultural Development.
