Practice Good Housekeeping

- Install a rain barrel or rain garden at your home or

  business; see www.thinkbluemaine.org/homeowners.

- Remove unused paved areas from your property.

- Reduce or eliminate your use of fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, and rock salt.

- When choosing a driveway sealant, choose one that does not have coal tar as an

  ingredient.

- Properly dispose of pet waste.

- Ensure exposed ground is reseeded to prevent erosion.

Lend a Hand

- Join the Penjajawoc Volunteer Stream Team (contact Mark Whiting at 356-5977).

- Start a Stream Team in another Bangor Stream (contact Mark Whiting at

  356-5977).

- Organize or help with a stream/street clean up or bio-survey – supplies will be

  provided (e-mail stormwater@bangormaine.gov).

- Volunteer to help educate others about stormwater at a local festival or event

  near you (e-mail stormwater@bangormaine.gov).

Make Your Voice Heard

- Participate in stakeholder meetings (see News & Events for upcoming meetings).

- Attend Citizen Review Panel meetings or City Council Infrastructure meetings.
