Police Department

The Bangor Police Department was established in 1889 with a permanent force of 13.  The police department today has a force of 82 police officers and a civilian support staff of 24.  The men and women of the Bangor Police Department are committed to providing our community with the best in public safety.  We have dedicated ourselves to work in partnership with our residents, business owners, and civic leaders for the purpose of deterring crime, protecting our city and improving the quality of life in our neighborhoods.
