The City of Bangor (population 33,500) is accepting applications for immediate openings for the position of Police Officer. Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, valid driver’s license, and good mental and physical condition. Preference will be given to post secondary education, law enforcement experience and/or military experience. Applicants must meet age requirements as established by the Maine Criminal Justice Academy and successfully pass a written test, physical agility test (MCJA standards), oral board, background investigation, psychological, polygraph and medical examinations. The starting salary range is $673.00 - $784.00 for a 40 hour work week, depending on experience. A complete fringe benefits package is offered including vacation, holidays, sick leave, health insurance, dental insurance, “Aflac” supplemental insurance, uniforms and equipment, 401(A) retirement plan, employee assistance program, and advancement and job specialty opportunities.
