3/24/2015 - City of Bangor Expands Foreign-Trade Zone
The City of Bangor is pleased to announce that it has expanded its Foreign-Trade Zone to provide a new benefit to businesses located within Hancock, Penobscot, Piscataquis, Waldo, and Washington counties. The City’s Foreign-Trade Zone has been entered into the Alternative Site Framework (ASF), a streamlined process that will provide companies with the ability to secure approval for Foreign-Trade Zone designation in a much faster time frame than was previously available. With basic information on the company, its operation and location, companies located within Hancock, Penobscot, Piscataquis, Waldo, and Washington counties can secure Foreign-Trade Zone status for warehouse and distribution operations within approximately 30 days from the time an application is accepted for filing. Manufacturing companies may also benefit from additional streamlined procedures. Foreign-Trade Zone status will provide a competitive advantage for companies in the five county service area.
