Housing Work Group Continues Public Meetings September 19 Focusing on Quality and Affordability
BANGOR, MAINE – The City of Bangor has convened a work group to focus on the issue of quality, affordable housing in the City and the region. The work group includes representatives from the public and private sector, including individuals, landlords, renters, housing developers, and nonprofit agencies. The public is invited and encouraged to attend all sessions. A series of workshops are planned through September and October to hear panel presentations on housing topics, culminating with recommendations for local programs or policy that can address the shortage of quality, affordable housing in the region.
The second public session is September 19, 2018 from 5:00 to 6:45 pm in Council Chambers at Bangor City Hall, 73 Harlow Street. A panel presentation will kick off the event, followed by questions and open discussion.
Subsequent panels will be held September 26, October 17 and 24. A session to focus on recommendations for solutions will be held on November 7, with a final presentation of recommendations to the City Council and other stakeholders on December 5. All meetings will be televised on Bangor’s government access channel and live streamed through the City’s Facebook page, and video will be available after the fact at:
