2. Mattawamkeag Ambulance Service Billing Agreement
This agreement would authorize the Bangor Fire Department to provide ambulance billing services to Mattawamkeag Fire Department. This agreement is similar to eight other agreements currently in place between Bangor Fire Department and ambulance service providers. This will generate approximately $1,500 per year in revenue. A memorandum from Chief Cammack and proposed Billing Agreement are attached.
3. Medical Director Contract for Special Response Team
Bangor Fire Department Paramedics provide a medical component to the Police Department Special Response Team (SRT) when they respond to emergencies. As part of paramedic involvement, a Medical Director is required to perform certain services. The current agreement with Eastern Maine Healthcare to provide the Medial Director has expired, and this request is to enter into a new two-year contract with EMMC to continue to provide this service. A memorandum and proposed agreement is attached.
REGULAR AGENDA
4. Bangor Fire Department Ambulance Drug Box Restocking Agreement with St. Joseph Hospital
The Fire Department is seeking authorization to enter into an agreement with St. Joseph Hospital in order to restock drugs and medications from their pharmacy following ambulance calls to that facility. Currently, the Department only as an agreement to restock ambulance drug boxes from the pharmacy at Eastern Maine Medical Center. This agreement would extend ambulance restocking opportunities to St. Joseph Hospital as well. A background memorandum from Chief Cammack and a proposed agreement is attached.
5. Request to Donate Surplus Ambulance to Northeast EMS
With the acquisition of a new ambulance, the Fire Department has a 2001 vehicle that is now surplus. Northeast EMS has inquired whether the City would donate this ambulance for the use of students in the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) program at Eastern Maine Community College (EMCC). A memorandum from Chief Cammack is attached along with a letter of request from Northeast EMS.
6. Discussion Regarding the Creation of a Dog Park
Over the past several years, there has been interest expressed concerning the establishment of a dog park in Bangor. More recently, a group of interested dog park supporters have formed BARK (Bangor Area Regional K-9’s) and would like to partner with the City to begin the process of creating such a facility. A background memorandum from Parks and Recreation Director Willette is attached, and Joe Knox of BARK is planning to attend to answer Committee questions.
