CONSENT AGENDA

 

1.                 Ambulance Billing Agreement with the Baileyville Ambulance Corps and Town of Baileyville

 

The Town of Baileyville/Baileyville Ambulance Corps has requested that Bangor Fire Department provide ambulance billing services.  The Fire Department would generate an estimated $1,500 annually under this agreement, which is similar to seven other ambulance billing agreements currently in place.  A background memorandum from Chief Cammack and our standard billing agreement are attached.

2.                 Proposed Amendments to the City of Bangor Charter – Nominating Petitions and Candidate Order on Election Ballots.

 

Councilor Wheeler has requested consideration of two Charter changes.  The first change concerns the number of signatures required on City Council nomination petitions.  The second change concerns the order of candidate names on the election ballot.  A background memorandum from City Solicitor Heitmann is attached as well as certain background information.

 

3.                 Proposal to Increase Certain City Clerk Fees

 

The City Clerk has proposed increases to certain fees that are charged for services in the Clerk’s Office.  A background memorandum from the City Clerk is attached with her recommendations.  The City Clerk will be present to discuss her proposal.

 

4.                 Transportation Consideration for Voters on Election Day

 

With the recent consolidation of the City’s polling locations to the Civic Center, concern was expressed about voters who might have difficulty with transportation to the location.  City Clerk Dubois has prepared a recommendation for the Committee’s consideration during this off-election year.  A background memorandum is attached and Ms. Dubois will be present to discuss her proposal with the Committee.
