CONSENT AGENDA
This Ordinance Amendment is being referred to the Committee from the City
Council. These proposed changes have
been previously reviewed and recommended for approval by the Government
Operations Committee.

Proposed
Ordinance Amendment – Handicapped Parking Time Limits
With
the assistance of advocates for persons with disabilities, the Police
Department and City staff has been reviewing policies related to handicapped
parking time limits. Following this
review, a proposal has been prepared for consideration which would expand and
formalize those time limits. A
memorandum from City Solicitor Heitmann is attached
along with the proposed Ordinance amendment.
We anticipate that Galen Saucier and Michael Noyes will be present to
discuss along with City staff.

Future
Use of Former Fire Station 6 on Griffin Road
Now
that the Fire Department has moved into its new station on Griffin Road, it is
appropriate to begin discussions regarding the former station and land. As a
starting point, attached is a background memorandum from Chief Cammack
outlining the current use, options, and information about the site.
4.
Update
– Information Regarding Chinese Sister City Relationship
Council
Chair Palmer has requested an opportunity to update the Committee regarding a
proposal to consider establishing a sister city relationship with a community
in China. Planned invitees will include
two representatives of Bangor Chinese School.
