| Member Requirements |
Shall be residents or employed in the City of Bangor. |
| Member Restrictions |
No salaried employee of the city can serve. Can not also serve on the Board of Ethics. |
Nature of Work:
Assess Bangor’s cultural needs, develop and maintain a comprehensive arts and cultural policy, develop annual program and budget recommendations for grants, monitor maintenance of public arts and monuments, provide a forum for the public to share ideas, perform advocacy of the arts in the community.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Attend scheduled meetings, review and make recommendations regarding the development and funding of programs, develop revisions to policies, review proposals and make recommendations regarding accepting, de-accessioning, locating, relocating, commissioning, preserving and maintaining public art and monuments.
Specific Abilities and Requirements:
- Ability to work collaboratively in a group setting.
- Ability to interpret and apply applicable local ordinances and state and federal laws.
- Must adhere to the City of Bangor Code of Ethics.
- Appreciation of the arts and culture.
