The City of Bangor is currently accepting applications for future openings in the City's CDL B Training Program.  This program is intended for individuals interested in working as a Transit Driver with the Community Connector. A future opportunity with Public Works, in addition to transit, is expected to occur in the future.

 Highlights of the program include:

  • Earn pay and benefits while you learn!

  • Paid classroom instruction with qualified trainers and on-the-road instruction in the actual vehicles you will be driving in City employment (e.g., City buses)

  • Shadowing of experienced City employees

  • Access to qualified instructors, vehicles, and support for testing (including paid testing fees)

  • Employment with the City once you successfully obtain your CDL B and required endorsements with a robust benefit package including paid time off, health insurance paid up to 80% with low deductible options, and retirement plan with employer contribution

In addition, City employees give back to their community in meaningful ways and enjoy the stability of municipal employment.  If you are interested in learning more about this opportunity or interviewing for this program, please complete a City application at the link below or contact the City of Bangor Human Resources office at or by phone at 207-992-4256.  The City of Bangor thanks you for your interest and hopes to hear from you soon!
