4/12/2016 - City Manager Submits Proposed Fiscal Year 2017 Budget to the City Council, Announces Public Budget Workshops

Bangor City Manager Catherine Conlow submitted a proposed budget for fiscal year 2017 (July 1, 2016 – June 30, 2017) to the City Council prior to last night's City Council Meeting. The proposed budget is the City Manager’s recommendation to the City Council; by charter, the City Council has until June 30th to adopt a final budget. The City’s Manager’s proposed budget is available on the City’s website at www.bangormaine.gov/budget.

The proposed budget will be reviewed by the City Council and City staff during a number of public budget workshops that will be held over the coming months. Please see schedule listed below:

Wednesday, April 13 - Overview of Budget and Capital Plan, Department Reviews; Council, City Clerk, Assessing, Legal, City Manager, Central Services, Human Resources, Finance, Risk Management, Information Services, Insurance, Treasury, Police

All budget workshops will be held in the City Council Chambers, located on the third floor of Bangor City Hall (73 Harlow Street) at 5:15 PM. The workshops will be broadcast live on the City’s government access channel (local channel 7).
