Holiday Tree Arrives in West Market Square on December 4

BANGOR, MAINE – The City of Bangor’s Holiday Tree will be installed in West Market Square on Wednesday, December 4, 2019. The 30+ foot balsam fir was donated by Dan Sprague. The tree will be set in place by Hartt’s Electric, and decorated with assistance from Hathaway Holiday Lights. The Downtown Bangor Partnership’s Beautification committee will once again decorate the base of the tree.

The tree will be lit on Saturday, December 7 at the conclusion of the Rotary Club of Bangor’s Festival of Lights Parade. The annual holiday parade begins at 4:30pm and makes its way through Downtown Bangor.

“The arrival of the Holiday Tree in West Market Square is a great annual tradition that marks the official start to a season of joy in Bangor,” said Tanya Emery, Director of Community and Economic Development for the City of Bangor. “The City is grateful to Dan Sprague for the incredible holiday centerpiece, to Hartt’s Electric for setting it in place, and to Hathaway Holiday Lights for making it bright. Our hats go off to the Rotary Club of Bangor for organizing the parade, and keeping this wonderful holiday celebration alive in Bangor!”
