4/28/2023 - Notice to Contractors: Oak Street Resurfacing Project Pre-Bid Meeting

NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS

Bids are requested for the

OAK STREET RESURFACING PROJECT  

MeDOT PROJECT NUMBER STP-2537(900)X

 

The project includes the milling and placing new hot mix asphalt surface on a portion of Oak Street in Bangor, Maine, and will include some curb replacement, sidewalk pavement overlay, along with other incidental work.

The Oak Street Resurfacing Project is a Maine Federal Aid Project No. STP 2537(900)X, MeDOT WIN 25379.00, located along a portion of Oak Street starting at State Street and extending southerly 0.23 miles to Washington Street, Bangor, Maine.

 

For consideration, the attached bid form sealed in an envelope, distinctly marked

 

" OAK STREET RESURFACING PROJECT  "

 

must be received at the Office of the City of Bangor Purchasing Agent by

 

2:00 PM, Wednesday, May 17, 2023.

 

A prebid meeting will be held on May 11 at 2:00 p.m. at the City of Bangor’s Engineering Department, 73 Harlow Street, Bangor, Maine. Bid security in the amount of 5% of the bid price will be required in the form of cash, a certified check or bid bond.

This project is subject to the Federal Labor Standards Provisions and Davis-Bacon Wage Rate Determination. All work shall be governed by State of Maine Department of Transportation, “Standard Specification”, revision of March 2020, and “Standard Details”, revision of March 2020.

 The right is reserved to reject any and all bids or to waive informalities or defects in bids if it is deemed to be in the best interest of the City of Bangor. Basis of award of Contract is determined by the lowest qualified bidder. The lowest bidder must have successfully completed a  Highway, or project specific prequalification for Bangor to consider the award of this contract.

Specifications may be obtained at the Engineering Department, City Hall, 73 Harlow Street, Bangor, Maine  04401, or emailed for a one hundred dollar ($100.00) charge. If plans need to mailed, a additional fee of $40.00 will be charged.
