4/10/2020 - City of Bangor Issues Emergency Regulation on Retail Marijuana Licensing Deadlines

The City of Bangor has issued an Emergency Regulation on deadlines for retail marijuana licensing, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Typically, the City's Code of Ordinances would only allow for 30 days for the City Council to review an adult-use or recreational marijuana license application. But due to the ongoing outbreak, social distancing, and the current availability of public resources, including the available time of City Council and City staff members, the application timeline has been temporarily extended.

The City Council may consider a retail marijuana establishment application for up to 90 days after the complete application is received by the City Clerk. If City Council or City staff cannot either ready or review the application within 90 days, the City Council may consider the application up to 180 days after the complete application is received. The regulation applies to all applications received from March 17, 2020 at 12:01 a.m. until the termination of the City's current State of Emergency.
