City of Bangor Responds to Tragic Events in Lewiston

We’ve all been impacted in some way by mass shootings that have occurred across our country, but today feels different.  This is home and many of you may know individuals impacted by the recent horrific events in Lewiston, which makes this tragedy all the more personal.

This remains an ongoing investigation and as such, a lot of questions remain unanswered, which undoubtedly creates additional concerns for everyone.    If you or anyone you know is in need of additional support, please dial 988 for the State of Maine Crisis Lifeline.

On behalf of the City of Bangor and all our citizens, we offer our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of those who lost their lives, those who were wounded, and the community as a whole.  We are thankful for the support of public safety agencies, including our own, the healthcare agencies, and the untold support provided by others, who have, and continue to respond to the needs of others.

As a City, we’d like to reassure our residents that we stand at the ready to lend support to our neighbors and we continue to deliver our full-range of services to our community.
