Recycling

Residential curbside trash and recycling is picked up by automated side-load trucks. All of your household's trash and recycling go into your 96-gallon trash bin, which is provided to you by the City and is tagged with a unique code that corresponds to your address. All trash and recycling must fit in the bin and the lid must close in order for the truck to pick it up.

Sidewalk Snow Removal

During the winter, the City of Bangor maintains an interconnecting network of sidewalks on main arteries and connector streets that connect businesses and schools to residential areas of the city. Unfortunately, the city does not have the resources to maintain residential sidewalks on all residential streets. Public Works will keep an alternate list of residential sidewalks to be cleared after the designated list of sidewalks is cleared.

The Maine Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) is pleased to offer an online search and order service for vanity license plates. The online process is easy and payment by credit card is quick and secure. Once you complete this application, BMV will need to review the order. Please allow at least 30 calendar days for processing. You will receive your official registration and new plates in the mail.
