BANGOR, Maine - The Office of the Attorney General is investigating an incident where Bangor Police Officers were involved in a shooting.
On June 26, Bangor Police responded to a residence on Broadway at around 2:45 p.m. after a person in the home called 911 to report another person who was armed with a gun and threatening suicide.
When officers arrived at the scene the person armed with the gun refused to follow repeated commands to drop the gun. The armed person was subsequently shot by officers.
Officers on site provided immediate medical aid. The injured person was transported to a hospital by the Bangor Fire Department.
The officers involved in the shooting are Officer Brian Cronk, hired in 2015, Officer Taylor Reynolds, hired in 2016, and Officer Ben Ferland, hired in 2018. They have been placed on administrative leave, as is standard procedure in a police involved shooting.
The Office of the Attorney General is investigating.
