The Community Connector is owned and operated by the City of Bangor and provides service to our region including, Bangor, Brewer, Hampden, Veazie, Old Town, Orono, and UMaine. We operate six days a week and some holidays, providing important, safe, affordable, and reliable transportation services.  Be sure to check out our newly built Transit Center in Downtown Bangor with dedicated space for our drivers and passengers alike!

 In this position, you will be guaranteed 30+ hours per week and have options to earn overtime!  The pay range for this position was recently increased to $21.05 - $28.96 based on experience and qualifications. Future pay increases are based on merit and cost of living increases as determined by the collective bargaining agreement. 

This position comes with a great benefits package, which includes:

  • Several options for health insurance, including low deductible plans with a small or no co-pay for many services, and up to 80% of premiums are paid by the City!
  • A retirement plan with generous City contribution of 9%.

Applicants must have an active Class B license and a clean driving record. Preference is given to candidates who also have a Passenger or "P" endorsement, but the City provides paid training to applicants with a Class B, but who do not have a "P" endorsement.  Applicants must be willing to work a flexible schedule and enjoy working with the public.  Work assignments are based on twice a year bidding process as outlined in the collective bargaining agreement. Pre-employment drug and alcohol test is required.
