Michael Beck grew up in Michigan and studied computer science in college before pursuing a career opportunity in technology. While in Michigan, he met Jamie, a Maine native attending college there. The two married in 2011 and relocated to Bangor in 2015, drawn by its welcoming community and vibrant amenities, to raise their family. They now have three children who attend Bangor Public Schools.
With a professional background in technology and project management, Mike is the sole proprietor of Bangor Solutions, a company specializing in website design and hosting. He treasures Bangor’s walkable downtown, its quality schools, and the world-class Bangor Public Library.
As a family, the Becks enjoy creating lasting memories, including their favorite holiday tradition: bundling up in pajamas with hot cocoa and driving around to admire Christmas lights throughout the city. Mike also strives to teach his children the importance of community engagement, reminding them that “decisions are made by those who show up.” When Mike isn’t at City Hall or working on websites, you’ll find him cheering on the Boston Bruins, playing Minecraft with his kids, and cracking dad jokes all along the way.
