Born and raised in Bangor, Susan Hawes lives on Buck Street with her husband, Alan. She is employed by Beal University as Dean of Education and Allied Health Program Director. She teaches in the Medical Assisting program and the Health Information Technology program.
Past professional experience includes retail, advertising and strategic planning, and she has also served in the U.S. Army.
She is President of the Maine School Board Association and Immediate Past President of the American Association of Medical Assistants.
Committees: She is the current Council Chair and is also Chair of the Personnel Committee.
