Police Department

The Bangor Police Department was established in 1889 with a force of 13. The department today has a force of 84 police officers and a civilian support staff of 20.

The Bangor Police Department is committed to providing our community with the best in public safety. We have dedicated ourselves to work in partnership with our residents, business owners, and civic leaders for the purpose of deterring crime, protecting our city, and improving the quality of life in our neighborhoods.
