In order to promote the public health, safety and welfare and to gain management control over solid waste and enable the reclamation of resources, including energy therefrom, the City of Bangor is designated as a waste flow control community. This allows the City of Bangor to control the final disposition of waste collected by commercial haulers and noncommercial haulers within the limits of the City of Bangor.
Commercial solid waste haulers are required to register annually (fiscal year, July 1 through June 30) and pay a fee based on the number of vehicles they operate in the City of Bangor.
