Voter Registration

The State of Maine allows residents to register to vote anytime, including the day of an election.

Residents of Bangor may register to vote at the City Clerk's Office, or by downloading this Voter Registration Card (PDF) and returning it, along with appropriate documentation, to:

Acceptable proof of identity to register to vote includes: government issued photograph identification (i.e. driver’s license, state ID, passport, military identification), birth certificate, signed Social Security card, determinations for public benefits, utility bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck or other government document that shows name and address, student photo ID.  If the current residence address of the voter is not on the ID document, additional proof of residency is required.  Proof can include, but not limited to, motor vehicle registration, current income tax return, current resident hunting and fishing license, utility bill, receipt of public benefit.

Residents may register to vote on Election Day at the Cross Insurance Center. To assist us in making the voting process as easy as possible, we ask that you register in advance if at all possible.
