Contractors seeking Street Opening Permits, Sewer Connection Permits, or Change of Use Permits, please contact the Engineering Department at 992-4248. There is a fee for each of these permits that must be paid at time of receipt.
Street Opening Permit
Any person, firm or corporation who wishes to tunnel under or to make any excavation in any street, alley or other public place and all sewer and storm drain work which drains to City mains
shall first obtain a Street Opening Permit from the City Engineering Department. The permit must be obtained by the contractor or utility company doing the work.
The contractor shall show proof of adequate insurance coverage and shall provide an active dig safe number before a permit is issued.
No street opening permit will be issued between December 1 in any one year and April 1 in the following year except for an emergency.
